Materials- Hybralox™ Alumina-Loaded Glass

Hybralox Alumina-Loaded Glass Hybralox^TM is the trade name for several series of hybrid alumina-loaded glasses developed to be harder, stronger, and to have a higher thermal conductivity than normal sealing glasses. Hybralox^TM is self glazing and can be metallized. Compared to Alumina ceramic, Hybralox tooling costs are often lower.

Hybralox^TM preforms are now being used for a wide variety of integrated circuit seals or as a replacement for glass-to-metal or ceramic-to-metal seals.

Four Hybralox^TM Grades are available:

Hybralox^TM 5000 Series -	Seals directly to itself or to Kovar without metallizing.
Hybralox^TM 6000 Series -	Seals Kovar to alumina bases.
Hybralox^TM 7000 Series -	Used both for Kovar to Kovar, and Kovar to alumina bases.
Hybralox^TM 9000 Series -	Used for compression seals.
