Materials
Using a wide variety of glass ceramic materials combined with proprietary manufacturing processes MTC GBC Materials offer a range of products of exceptional quality.
All of the glass ceramic materials we source to create products are selected for their quality and purity ensuring that the end product you receive is effective and capable. This commitment to quality and purity is augmented by the way we are structured, meaning that as we source glass ceramic materials and use our own manufacturing expertise, we are able to offer economical solutions that do not sacrifice performance.
Our Glass Ceramic Materials Include
Alumina
Alumina of various purity grades is available ranging from 85%-99.5% offering electronic, mechanical and thermal properties. Alumina ceramic material can be used in volume production of tubes and rings to precision tolerances.
Steatite
Steatite ceramic offers good mechanical and electrical qualities and can be used in the manufacture of resistor and coil forms, surge arrestors, spacers and standoffs. A more economical option that alumina ceramic, it has particular benefits in the area of high voltage insulation.
Aluminio Silicates
Aluminio silicate produced under the trade name of Cerasil™ 224U ceramic has similar properties to Steatite although has enhanced thermal shock resistance. It offers a cost effective option due to the lower processing costs associated with a lower firing temperature and reduced tool wear.
Precision Glass
We use 2 proprietary forming processes for our precision glass ceramic materials which offer low and high volume production. Our glass ceramic materials can also be used with a range of metals in the creation of glass-to-metal seals.
Wesgo VX Super Refractory
Offering desirable high temperature qualities akin to ceramics combined with exceptional thermal shock resistance Wesgo “VX” Super Refractory is particularly suited to environments where rapid temperature changes feature, such as furnace, brazing and sintering applications.
