Hybralox
HybraloxTM is the trade name for several series of hybrid Alumina-loaded glasses developed to be harder, stronger, and to have a higher thermal conductivity than normal sealing glasses.
HybraloxTM is self glazing and can be metallized. Compared to Alumina ceramic, Hybralox tooling costs are often lower.
HybraloxTM preforms are now being used for a wide variety of integrated circuit seals or as a replacement for glass-to-metal or ceramic-to-metal seals.
Four HybraloxTM Grades are available:
HybraloxTM 5000 Series
Seals directly to itself or to Kovar without metallizing
HybraloxTM 6000 Series
Seals Kovar to Alumina bases
HybraloxTM 7000 Series
Used both for Kovar to Kovar, and Kovar to Alumina bases
HybraloxTM 9000 Series
Used for compression seals
