Glass Ceramics Manufacturing Processes
At MTC GBC Materials we utilise 2 distinct production processes to produce glass ceramic products and components.
Direct Draw – Direct Draw is a process used to manufacture precision products to the tightest of tolerances in small quantities. This can be used to produce glass tubing and rods as well as glass-to-metal sealing beads in a range of colours and even in opaque glass.
Redraw – The redraw process produces a continuous glass tube or rod which is then cut using diamond saws. It is ideal for producing glass ceramics in high volumes and is subsequently extremely cost effective.
As well as standard product sizes for our glass ceramics we can also tailor the size and tolerances to your individual needs, for specific applications our expert engineers can develop special formulations to ensure they perform effectively.
